Capvis Equity Partners AG voted "Best Private Equity Firm" in Germany and Switzerland
Zurich, 13 March 2013 - Capvis Equity Partners AG has been awarded “Best Private Equity Firm in Switzerland” for the 10th time and “Best Private Equity Firm in Germany” for the first time. Besides the successful year 2012, the award also reflects the successful and sustainable investment strategy of the firm.
Every year, the leading industry magazine “Private Equity International” recognizes industry participants for their work in 70 categories including “Best Private Equity Firm in Switzerland” and “Best Private Equity Firm in Germany”. The awards are seen as “the Oscars of the Private Equity industry”; where over 30,000 industry practitioners participate in the online voting. This year, Capvis was awarded twice: for “Best Private Equity Firm in Switzerland” and “Best Private Equity Firm in Germany” and was the runner-up in the category “Best Mid-Market Private Equity Firm in Europe”. The Swiss award reflects the strong reputation that Capvis enjoys in its home market and is based on its track record of over 20 years as a competent and reliable partner. The German award shows the firm's increasing presence in the German market over the last 10 years. The awards are a testament to Capvis' professionalism and commitment to sustainable corporate success.
With more than a handful of transactions, 2012 was a very active and successful year for Capvis. In Germany, Capvis made two landmark exits: the sales of WMF to KKR and BARTEC to Charterhouse. Additionally, Capvis invested in two market leaders in their respective fields: hessnatur and Ondal Medical Systems. In Switzerland, Capvis successfully sold its stake in Stadler Rail and partially sold KVT's Fastening Business to the Bossard Group. With the recent acquisition of nicko tours, Capvis continues its strong trajectory into 2013.
